We thank Delta Bingo – Val Caron for the funds to purchase new safety mats!
We thank Sudbury Tourism #sudburytourism#greatersudbury for a grant through the Tourism Event Support Fund!
We thank HP Home Design for a donation to assist the committee with providing delicious lunches, snacks and hot drinks!

Sudbury Sprinters Awarded Speed Skating Ontario 2024 Club of the Year!

Congratulations to our skaters, our coaches, our parents, our volunteers, our alumni, and our board. Thank you for your shared values of minimizing barriers to participating in speed skating, of growth through sport, of community, and of fun!

From Speed Skating Ontario: The Sudbury Sprinters Speed Skating Club demonstrated Speed Skating Ontario’s values of Fairness, Excellence, Inclusion and Fun in the 2023-2024 season. Their goal to provide access to long track training and fun competition in Ontario was realized when they hosted the inaugural Sudbury Long Track Event in February 2024. This event included a long track camp led by experienced Ontario long track Coaches, followed by a long track competition which allowed novice and seasoned long track enthusiasts in Ontario to access in-province long track competition for the first time in many years. The Sprinters have also shown commitment to their short track programs by hosting Regional Meets and building a strong cohort of competitive short track racers who regularly travel to compete in the Provincial Circuit and Provincial Championships. The Sprinters will host the 2025 Provincial Short Track Championships and are looking forward to bringing speed skating to Northern Ontario!

Sudbury Sprinters Awarded Speed Skating Canada Intact Insurance Club Excellence Award!

This monetary award enabled the club to buy long-track speed skating blades for the inaugural Long-Track Camp and Fun Meet held in February 2024 at Queen’s Oval. Here is a video with picturesque footage from that event, followed by a survey to our skaters.
